Nice to Meet You, Whitney Miller!
Whitney Miller | Huntington Beach, CA | Fullerton Tool Company
Years in the Industry: 6 | Years as a WII Member: 1
How did you get started in our industry?
My great-grandfather founded Fullerton Tool Company, and my grandfather ran it from the ’70s – 2000s. Now my uncle and cousin are running it. I will be a part of the Fourth Generation, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Why did you want to join Women In Industry?
I was interested in joining because of the knowledge and experience that this group offers. Building relationships is so important in this industry, and it is an honor to be able to interact and learn from all of these great women. The more education I can receive, the better. That is what I love about this industry, there is always something new to learn about.
What do you like best about WII?
I like that WII is focused on networking and building relationships between strong women supporting each other. I like hearing the keynote speakers and listening to other people’s experiences and what they have overcome to become who they are now. It is empowering and insightful to hear other perspectives.
What else would you like to see from WII?
I would like to see more activities that would build connections between members. I’d like to have more small-group discussions to help members learn tools to improve communication skills.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to travel and explore new places. My friends from Michigan and I have tried to plan a trip each year. We traveled through Big Sur and Napa last year, and, this year, we are going to Zion and Bryce Canyon. It is fun to have something to look forward to. There is so much to explore in the US!
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I took a road trip across the country for 4 weeks, and we went to 20 different National Parks.
What book have you read recently that you loved?
I picked up Big Sur by Jack Kerouac at the Henry Miller Library. The way he describes nature is absolutely mesmerizing.
