Nice to Meet You, Amy!
Amy Brown | Marketing Manager at Hubbard Supply Co.
Name: Amy Brown
Location: Flint, MI
Company: Hubbard Supply
Years in the Industry: 20 years
Years as a WII Member: 8 years
How did you get started in our industry?
I fell into this wonderful company back in 2003 as a customer service rep. Over the years, my role has changed, evolved and grown. I have been given opportunities to learn all aspects of the business and am currently in the role of Marketing Manager. That means I get to do all kinds of fun projects.
Why did you want to join Women In Industry?
I was approached by a founding member, Sandy Johns, and she told me about it. I was eager to meet other women in this industry and build a network of peers.
What do you like best about WII?
This group of women is the most encouraging and uplifting body of people I have ever worked with. The business competitiveness is left outside the door and we all openly share experiences both professionally and personally. I have developed relationships that help me grow and be a better person all around. As the network has seen tremendous growth over the years, the core principles remain. To encourage and support women in our industry to have the skills and confidence to lean in and own their seat at the table.
What else would you like to see from WII?
I would love to see our regional meet-ups grow into bigger gatherings. Life is busy and it’s hard to get a group together.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to be doing anything outdoors…. riding my Harley, hiking, running, and sitting on a beach! I am also very involved with my church.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I have run 9 marathons.
What book have you read recently that you loved?
I am currently reading “The Women” by Kristin Hannah and it’s about the Vietnam War from the perspective of a female Army nurse.
