Share your expertise and help ISA Lead the Channel Forward by presenting at
ISA 21 taking place virtually in April!
This is a new day for the ISA Convention. We recognize that there is a wealth of knowledge and expertise from within our channel that when shared can collectively propel all companies within the industrial supply channel forward. This year, we are asking you to share your expertise, your case studies and your perspectives with all your peers in order to strengthen the supply chain and keep it vibrant to match the ever-changing needs of end-users.
Is ISA 21 a fit for you?
Founded in 1902, The Industrial Supply Association is the channel association for the Industrial MROP industry – Leading The Channel Forward®. ISA provides the strategies, tools and education for companies to stay relevant throughout industry change. The members of ISA are Industrial Manufacturer, Distributor and Independent Manufacturer Representative companies.
The audience of this event will be 1200+ industry professionals representing over 500 companies. These companies are not only diverse in type (Manufacturer, Distributor and IMR) but also in revenue size (under $5M to $1B+), product category (all MROP categories represented), and geographic representation (local to global).
If you believe your presentation will help companies in the Industrial Supply Channel stay relevant in today’s changing landscape then ISA 21 is where you want to present!
Overview
Below you will find a brief form that will ask you to submit an “abstract” of your presentation. An abstract is a high-level overview of what your topic is and what you believe the audience will learn from tuning in. You can also upload materials like pdf’s and powerpoints to support your abstract. Once you have submitted the abstract, it will be reviewed for quality and relevance. You will then be notified whether or not your abstract was accepted for the program at the upcoming ISA 21 event in April.
What are we looking for in an abstract?
We are asking you to submit a presentation abstract for one of our 7 educational tracks centered around the ISA Drivers of Success:
Go-to-Market Strategy:
The pace of change in our industry is accelerating. Traditional supply channels and supporting sales models are no longer keeping up with End User needs and the rise of Industry 4.0. New capabilities and standards are required to stay relevant for Manufacturers, Distributors and Independent Manufacturers alike. This track is about relevant value propositions and how to bring them to life helping all stakeholders (Distributors, Manufacturers, and IMRs) create better strategic value for each other while satisfying the End User’s evolving needs. Presentation topics could center around value proposition, digital presence, market/channel segmentation, sales strategy, market places as examples. The landscape is shifting rapidly making new and innovative strategies a must.
Talent Recruitment & Retention:
People are the most important asset a company has. This track will focus on the ways companies can attract and keep the best possible people for your company and our industry. Winning recruiting strategies for next-gen, how to build the right culture that fosters a powerful inclusive environment, forward-thinking succession strategies are just a few examples how companies in our channel can leverage people strategies to stay relevant throughout industry change.
Employee Development:
How is your company narrowing the skills gap given the new competencies needed to survive? This track will concentrate on programs and innovations that show how companies in the channel are leveling-up their employees. The Business essentials all next-gen need to thrive for themselves and their organizations, Mentoring programs that create an environment of accelerated learning and industry specific training/education are examples of employee development initiatives that help companies position their people to meet the demands of the evolving channel.
Technology:
Are you leveraging the advancements in technology? This track will focus on the rapidly advancing technological tools that are helping companies thrive for today and tomorrow. AI, IoT, Digital presence, warehouse and logistic automation are just a few examples of investments in technology helping leaders position their companies for future success.
Channel Connections:
Before 2020 happened, air travel, hotels, cold calls and in-person networking events defined how the channel partners (Manufacturers, IMRs, Distributors and End Users) connected. This track will focus on the new and innovative ways companies are finding to conduct business that strengthens the relationships and interconnectivity of the channel. Leveraging new media and technology for sales success, optimizing virtual/digital events and innovative emerging business development strategies that bring people together are just a few examples of how companies are redefining channel connections in this industry.
Lean Processes:
Waste is not something that can be tolerated given the wreckage COVID19 has had on many businesses in the channel. This track will explore the ways that companies are getting leaner to maximize efficiency, reduce waste and improve margins. LEAN principles, pipeline sharing, and POS standardization are just a few of examples of how companies are making sure that every dollar spent is value-add.
Analytics:
All companies in the industrial supply channel are faced with big decisions every day and leveraging analytics to help run your business is a must in 2020 and beyond. In this track, the presentations will dive into the ways companies in this channel are using analytics strategically to position their company. Forward-focused benchmarking reports, industry index forecasting and dynamic BI tools are examples of ways that analytics are coming out of the file cabinet and being placed at the center of the business.
So what should you present?
Anyone with innovative ideas, trending research, powerful conversations/discussions or company case studies related to tracks listed above is invited to submit a presentation abstract for consideration.
Sessions at ISA 21 will be 30-45 minutes in length. There is also the expectation that, as a presenter, you will be able to present your topic virtually and on camera (not just talking over slides). See speaker guidelines here for more details.
What should you not present?

By submitting an abstract, you agree to have your submission blindly peer reviewed by ISA.
Please Note: You may submit as many abstracts as you wish, but each abstract will need to be submitted separately.
